Belltower is an up-and-coming independent string band whose original music is informed by bluegrass, old-time, jazz, and singer-songwriter traditions. Based in Eugene, Oregon, the band formed in 2023 and is currently working on its second full-length album. Belltower’s biggest focus is on live performance. The band has played at Eugene’s WOW Hall, the Oregon Country Fair, the Sisters Folk Festival, and many other venues around Oregon. Belltower’s members include Micah Primack (rhythm guitar, banjo, piano, vocals), Elijah McFarlane (lead guitar, dobro, vocals), Noah Poteet (mandolin, vocals), Aedan Seaver (fiddle, vocals) and Gabriel Martinez (bass, vocals).

On Saturday, January 3rd the Community Center for the Performing Arts proudly presents Metal 4 Meals at the WOW Hall.

This event is a community event that benefits the community as a whole, via food drive and raising money through raffles etc for food for lane county, showcasing independent metal artists and funding their career further, continued support of the historical nonprofit venue the WOW Hall to generate revenue to keep the doors open and continue to serve the community with wonderful events like this as well as promotes local small businesses that sponsor the event with goods and services to raffle and raise money for Food for Lane County. This is truly an event that captures a community coming together to help everyone involved in its production. I’m proud to be part of such a community where things like this can become an annual event. I hope to see you all there next year!! Let’s make this huge!!

New World Sinner is a Brutal American Metal Band risen from the NW Metal scene.

This old school metal influenced band has been hitting the scene since February of 2008. NWS brings the thunderous sound that has been brought by such acts as "Pantera", "Slayer", "Sepultura", ect... with the new sounds of such acts as "Lamb of God", "Chimaira", and "All Shall Perish" just to name a few.

PROVEN

Overcome by complacency, apathy and the lack of truly aggressive music, Portland, Oregon gave birth to the Hardcore Metal group known as Proven. Possessing the drive and a strong desire to bring their message to the world, Proven has shown they are determined to not let anything hold them back.

Their songs, sound, work ethic, and live show garnered the attention of Billy Graziadei (Biohazard, Powerflo, BillyBio) in 2006. Proven has since then recorded three albums with Billy as co-producer and co-engineer.

They have shared the stage with great bands including; Biohazard, Sepultura, Soulfly, Machine Head, Fear Factory, Superjoint, Phil and The Illegals, Black Label Society, Crowbar, In Flames, Amon Amarth, Unearth, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Chimaira, Prong, Terror, Sworn Enemy, After The Burial, Bury Your Dead, Emmure, Powerflo and many more.

Proven has toured Ireland and the US multiple times, and has pummeled fans worldwide on Sirius XM, and terrestrial radio stations across the nation. Proven has always taken the DIY approach in every aspect of the band, and have done things on their own terms.

Their latest album "Always On The Attack", was released August 30th, 2019 on the Australian label 1054 Records.

Currently, they are working on a new album and preparing for a tour in the Spring of 2026 to commemorate 20 years as a band.

In this seminar, we will read four key works of fiction written in Ireland, England, and America during the famed “Modernist Movement” of the first half of the twentieth century. How did these authors, writing from different places, different moments, and different perspectives respond to their shared belief that the twentieth century was a time of unprecedented change and modernization which demanded new kinds of fiction—fictions that not only told new kinds of stories about the realities of living in a new, modern century, but that also told those stories in innovative modern forms?

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Paul Peppis is a UO Professor of English Emeritus. An award-winning teacher and scholar of modernism, Dr. Peppis is an expert in early twentieth-century literary works and cultural productions whose teaching and writing examine modernism’s diverse engagements with the social, political, scientific, and popular movements of its time. The author of two books, Sciences of Modernism: Ethnography, Sexology, and Psychology (Cambridge 2014) and Literature, Politics, and the English Avant-Garde (Cambridge 2000), he has also contributed chapters to the Cambridge Companion to Modernist Poetry (2007), and the Cambridge Companion to E. M. Forster (2007), and published numerous articles on a range of modernist authors and topics

ABOUT CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINARS

These courses are for people eager to engage in a studious seminar format. Each in-person only seminar meets weekly, over four sessions. The seminars are led by current and retired professors who provide formal study guides and lead college-level discussions, with participants actively contributing to each session. Seminars are noncredit and ungraded but include challenging homework.

People know him in Minnesota, where most bar bands seem to cover at least one of his songs, but otherwise he's still one of the best kept secrets in the country. He sings about an America that doesn't get much play anymore, the one where the people at the bottom can't quite get ahead, and where working people aren't cartoon props in a culture war, but shrewd human beings living hard lives, and hard loves. His songs have the diamond-hard clarity and simplicity of Tom Petty, and like Petty, Koskinen can sing a literal statement without metaphor or ornament, and make it move like poetry.

Tom is a California native guitarist and Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame inductee, has toured throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan and Canada playing with artists such as Big Brother & the Holding Co., Jefferson Starship, Joan Baez and many others.

Mark Burgess (as Tom Petty)
Mark started playing guitar when he was 9 years old. He attended The Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University as a jazz performance major. Employed by Warner Bros as a music engraver. Toured Japan, and worked with Robert Fripp, Kevin Eubanks “Tonight Show”, Sally Struthers, Tom Scott, Don Rickles and more.

Chris Sanborn (as Roy Orbison)
Chris uses his classical training to sound like Roy Orbison from when he was studying voice in Vienna and performing with jazz vocal groups throughout Europe and with the Austrian National Radio Choir.

Jeff Kaplan (as Bob Dylan)
Jeff hails from Asbury Park, NJ. He was a founding member of Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, scored a #1 hit on alternative radio as guitarist in the 700 Club, and done stints playing 5-string banjo in many bluegrass bands.

Steve Love (as Jeff Lynne)

Steve was the lead guitar/lead singer for the #1 Sixty’s tribute band, Back Pages, in Northern California.

Chris Lockheed (as Jim Keltner)

Classes are presented by trained OSU Master Gardener Pruning Specialists! They will cover proper pruning equipment, important pruning principles and best times to prune. They are eager to share their knowledge and experience with you and want your class experience to be fun, as well as educational. You do not need to bring pruning tools (unless noted) to the classes, but you might want to bring your camera for pictures.

On Saturday, January 17th, 2026, the Community Center for the Performing Arts proudly welcomes Keller Williams back to the WOW Hall.

Virginian, Keller Williams, released his first album in 1994, FREEK, and has since given each of his albums a single syllable title: BUZZ, SPUN, BREATHE, LOOP, LAUGH, HOME, DANCE, STAGE, GRASS, DREAM, TWELVE, LIVE, ODD, THIEF, KIDS, BASS, PICK, FUNK, VAPE, SYNC, RAW, SANS, ADD, SPEED, CELL, DROLL and now DEER.

Each title serves as a concise summation of the concept guiding each project. Keller’s albums reflect his pursuit to create music that sounds like nothing else. Un-beholden to conventionalism, he seamlessly crosses genre boundaries. The end product is music that encompasses rock, jazz, funk and bluegrass, and always keeps the audience on their feet. Keller built his reputation initially on his engaging live performances, no two of which are ever alike.

For most of his career he has performed solo. His stage shows are rooted around Keller singing his compositions and choice cover songs, while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, bass, guitar synthesizer and drum samples; a technique called live phrase sampling or “looping”.

The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or ADM.” Keller’s constant evolution has led to numerous band projects as well; Keller & The Keels, Grateful Grass, KWahtro, Keller and the Travelin’ McCourys, Grateful Gospel, More Than A Little and most recently DeadPettyKellerGrass. You can even catch him from time to time going back to his troubadour roots with his “Shut the Folk Up and Listen” series.

Keller can be found playing clubs and festivals with these projects and his tried and true solo looping show, always changing things up and keeping moving.

Learn how to choose a restoration-ready piece and prepare it for refinishing. Instruction covers safe shop practices, common restoration challenges, and hands-on work with veneer, stain, wood fillers, and paint removers. You will leave with foundational skills for successful refinishing projects.

Day 2: Cabinet Doors, Drawers, and Hardware (Jan. 25 from 1 – 4 PM)

Each moment in a person's life has its own song - says Zoryana Dybovska, who founded Yagody in 2016 in the West Ukrainian city of Lviv, together with students from the local theater faculty. The four traveled through different regions of Ukraine to explore the musical traditions of the people there. With this huge collection of songs about love and life, Yagody create their own exciting sound mix, supported by musicians on drums, guitar, accordion or the drymba, a mouth harp of the Hutsul people from the Carpathians. In 2020 Yagody released their debut album, followed by big performances such as at the medieval festival "Tu Stan!" in Lviv in 2018 or in 2022 at Lodžie Worldfest in Jicín, Czech Republic. Since Yagody are active in the world of theater, they realize their musical stage show according to dramaturgical principles, a concert is like a performance in one act. As the showmaster announced the nameless band at their first concert, he spontaneously presented them as 'Yagody' which means 'berries'.
Yagody's repertoire consists of poetic songs from Ukraine and some regions around. The musicians build a very diverse and energetic world of melodies, rhythms and themes, which they blend uniquely. A concert with Yagody is a ritual. It is about listening to the inner self. And to the mythical sound of our ancestors, like the breath of the wind in the field. The concert guests are completely captivated by Yagodys dance of voices, which form the eternal pulse of being human. Yagody's songs are like love letters from the past that haven't arrived yet. Adam Moezinia moved to New York City in 2010 to study at Juilliard and has since then played with many greats in the jazz idiom including Cecile McLorin Salvant, Freddy Cole, George Coleman, Mike LeDonne and many others, at venues like Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, The 1905 and The Black Cat.
Adam's group, "The Folk Element Trio" is rooted in the tradition of jazz but reaches beyond to incorporate different styles of folk music from around the world including West Africa, the Caribbean, The UK and Appalachia. They released their debut album in April of 2021 to rave reviews and have since been performing all around the country. They will be performing at The Axe and Fiddle as part of a 5 week west coast tour. Joining Adam will be Emiliano Lasansky on bass and Marcello Carelli on drums.

EUGENE – The Eugene Figure Skating Club is hosting the 3rdAnnual Frozen 5K FUNdraiser on Friday, January 30th at 6:30pm at The Rink Exchange at the Lane County Fairgrounds (796 W 13th Ave) in Eugene.

The Eugene Figure Skating Club is bringing the Frozen 5K to Track Town and inviting all skaters to challenge themselves to complete a 5K on ice. Skaters of all levels and ages are welcome to participate. Registration is $25 and there are prizes for skaters who get the most donations. New this year is a costume contest with prizes. The event will feature Snowplow Sam – the Learn to Skate USA Ambassador. Completion of the 5K will be 38 laps of the local rink.

This event takes place as part of National Skating Month and to usher in the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. The Eugene Figure Skating Club hosts a number of programs, including Learn to Skate programs, high-level workshops and specialty programs and annual performance opportunities.

Check-in begins at 6:15pm, skating begins at 7pm and the event will conclude at 8:30pm with treats and medals for participants.

On Saturday, Jan. 31st, 2026, the Community Center for the Performing Arts proudly welcomes One Way Out to the WOW Hall.

One Way Out PDX, Portland’s 8-member powerhouse tribute to the music of the Allman Brothers tribute band, has been setting the Northwest on fire with their deep dives into the music of one of the greatest live bands of our time. One Way Out’s last show at the WOW was a night to remember, and now they're back to do it again. A One Way Out show never fails to get an audience up and dancing. The songs are great and the band delivers.
