Event Description: In support of the Oregon Humanities Center’s “Year of the Book,” we present this brilliant, yet rarely screened, adaptation of a literary classic. Utilizing a stage adaptation by Mary Manning as her springboard and the brains and resource materials of the James Joyce Society to help her illustrate and respond to Joyce’s challenging text, Manning produced, in Joyce scholar Zack Bowen’s view, “the most innovative cinematic interpretation of the spirit of Joyce's last work ever attempted.” (FREE)
