The Little Block Party at the August ArtWalk celebrates African-descendant traditions, practices, and cross-cultural exchange.
Join us for an evening of live music by Ziree Sun, Fiddlin’ Miriam, Cameron Daye, MUNYA, and Amiia Nectar, performances by Carlos “Retro” Rasmussen and Fermata Ballet Collective Inc., vendors, and drinks by Ninkasi Brewing Company, as we explore the beauty and richness of African-descendant cultures. We will have featured exhibits by Zoë Gamell Brown & Jalen Thompson inside of the Farmers Market Pavilion, community organizations, and artists vendors.
Let's create an atmosphere of inclusion and acceptance where everyone can learn more about each other's cultures and share their experiences with one another.
This event is being produced by Fernland Studios, Sirius Rising LLC multimedia, Singer Songwriter Amiia Nectar, and Writer and Installation Artist Jalen Thompson. This event is supported by Lane Arts Council, City of Eugene Cultural Services’ Downtown Program Fund, Farmers Market Pavilion, and Oregon Arts Commission.
