Our region now has some of the worst congestion in the nation. Since 1993, Eugene metro area congestion has increased by a whopping 157%.
Meanwhile, in Seattle and Portland areas, time spent in congestion has increased 154% and 252%, respectively. While high-speed rail funding discussions in Congress pick up speed and the discussion of the new Cascadia High-Speed Rail line between Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, BC continues to move ahead; no planning should move forward without Eugene at the table.
