Legislative Leadership: Creating Opportunities for Housing 8:20am Over the past several years, Oregon legislators have passed policies intended to help communities remove barriers and access tools to increase production of housing, increase diversity (middle housing), and respond to needs (partitions) for communities. Representative Julie Fahey will share about the state's unprecedented investments in 2024.
Responding with Resources + Q&A 8:30am With supportive policy and investments approved by state legislators, the Governor's administration is now focused on implementing legislation including the Governor's Housing Production Package. Matthew Tschabold, housing policy staff for Governor Kotek's office, joins us to share details about how communities will be able to access the funding sources to support housing production.
From Policy to Action 9:15am In 2017 a coalition of community members came together to try to move the needle on increasing housing affordability, diversity and supply in our region. As a founding partner, the Eugene Chamber leaned in to form Better Housing Together to lead this work. Through the last several years of joint advocacy, several policies have been passed at a state and local level to try to address our housing challenges. Incoming Mayor Elect and Executive Director of Better Housing Together, Kaarin Knudson, will help connect the dots on how those policies are inspiring action and making a difference on a local level.
Innovation in Housing Projects 9:45am It truly takes a village. With a need for all forms of housing, local developers are working hard to fill the gap - yet barriers persist. From Affordable Housing to Market Rate Development, developers on this panel will highlight four real housing projects in our community including costs, financing, timelines and creative tools used for their projects. local examples of projects across the AMI spectrum.

Getting it Built: Opportunities + Challenges Panel 10:35am You've seen the projects, now let's hear the good, bad, and ugly about how it got built. During this panel discussion we will invite our developers back up to answer attendee questions about the biggest challenges they faced in building their projects and the opportunities we have to break down those barriers.
Meeting the Need 11:15am Housing developers, business leaders, and service providers are coming together to determine what is needed to ramp up housing production to levels necessary to meet the needs of our community. Members of a local housing production task force will share data and recommendations on where and how we move the needle and how audience members can help implement solutions immediately.
Closing Remarks 11:45am Learn from the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce CEO, where we can go from here and how you can stay involved.
