As audiologists, we help educate people about hearing loss and its detrimental affect on quality of life and relationships. We recommend and encourage hearing preservation through the use of appropriate noise protection. We test for hearing loss, diagnose the degree and type of hearing loss if it exists, and we prescribe hearing instruments if appropriate. We understand the importance of involving family in all phases of the process and we know that effective counseling makes the difference between success and failure in hearing rehabilitation.
