Message from the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Mandy Jones I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your membership and support of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and provide an update on the status of your Chamber on behalf of the entire Board. As I mentioned at the Celebration of Business Event in January, Chamber CEO Dave Hauser is currently on extended medical leave. Dave recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and in that time, he has made an incredible impact and worked tirelessly on our public policy and economic development plans. Many of you know how important Dave is to the community and we anticipate and truly look forward to his eventual return later this year. In the meantime, the Board felt it was important to put in place a six-month plan to provide our membership some clarity around how we will continue to do our work on your behalf during his absence. With that in mind, Dave recommended -- and the Board agreed -- to appoint Brittany Quick-Warner as interim CEO of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce. Brittany has been with the Chamber for nearly four years and in that time has built critical relationships, developed a deep understanding of our community and has demonstrated her ability to confidently advocate on behalf of local businesses. You may be familiar with Brittany and her work in the areas of Public Policy and Economic Development. In addition to these duties, she has stepped in to support Dave over the past three months. As interim CEO, Brittany will have the full support of the Board and authority for all aspects of decision making for the Chamber. Dave is one of Brittany’s biggest advocates and will be available to her as a consultant during his time on leave. Our Local Governmental Affairs Council (LGAC) also gives their approval of Brittany and will add additional strength to her team. The Chamber has a lot on our agenda this year and we want to assure our members that we will continue to work on the issues that matter to you and provide you the value that you have come to expect. As we respect Dave’s medical leave and turn to Brittany for leadership over the coming months, I would appreciate if you could please send any professional correspondence you previously sent to Dave directly to Brittany. This will allow Brittany and her team to take your comments, questions and ideas forward in the most effective manner. Personal messages you may have for Dave can continue to go directly to his Chamber email address. We will continue to keep our members updated going forward. Again, the Board truly appreciates all of your support and understanding while we navigate through this process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any members of the Board. Sincerely, Mandy Jones Board Chair, Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce CEO, Oregon Community Credit Union mjones@myoccu.org
