Event Description:
Heterosexual. Married. Monogamous. Most relationship messages we see modeled in dominant culture support these constructs as ideals. For LGBTQ+ folks, these black and white concepts as a package have never supported a rainbow of relational diversity, and for cis-gendered and/or heterosexual people these rigid concepts are frequently problematic. Relationships are not black and white, one size does not fit all. How do we even know what is authentic to us as diverse individuals if we have only been shown a small cross-section of what is possible in relationship? Why would we deviate from this “norm” when other options are represented negatively? This discussion provides a container for individuals to begin to explore relational authenticity, modeled by facilitators who have decades of professional and personal experience navigating open, honest, ethical, consensual, relationships This group is a monthly relational topic group that will address topics generated by the group such as: Fostering open and honest communication Navigating Jealousy Boundaries Designing your own relationships Opening relationships mindfully Power and consent Navigating shifting desires Dating Sexuality Gender Dynamics and Identity Eugene Intimate Health Center has chosen warm professionals in the field of relationship and intimacy to offer low-cost consulting, community building, and facilitated dialog at a fraction of the cost of individual sessions.
