Event Description:
Presented by CAFA (Christians As Family Advocates) Getting free from your past to become the person God intends for us to be sounds wonderful and yet all too unattainable if you’re like most of us! You might feel that you have too difficult of a past, that you’re not strong enough or frankly that it just doesn’t happen on this side of Heaven. What’s interesting is that a lot of us don’t realize the impact our past experience has on our current emotions, actions and even beliefs. In fact, did you know that something called your attachment style will determine if you are likely to stay with people or are prone to leave when things get messy. Psychiatrist and renowned author, Curt Thompson, M.D., will help us fill in the gaps as he teaches us ways our brain operates, explains attachment styles, describes how our upbringing with our parents forms us and illustrates how “being known” by others and God can actually change our brains and positively impact our lives. -Discover how unresolved memories and emotions from our past create negative thoughts, sensations and mental confusion leading to emotional disconnection and feelings of isolation. -Learn how to create healthy attachment styles so that your children can thrive. -Understand unhealthy patterns formed in childhood and how to repair them. -Discover how to create positive, healthy and meaningful relationships. -Learn how to rewire your mind and become the person God created you to be This event is free for the community, parents, grandparents, caregivers, pastors, individuals, and anyone who wants stronger relationships and who wants to learn how to become the person God created them to be. Anyone is invited to attend the sessions for “Parents and Grandparents” and “People Who Work With People.” You can attend one or both.
