Event Description:
The University of Oregon will host the 4th Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples Symposium on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the Many Nations Longhouse. Keynote speakers are Maxine Burkett, from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and Elizabeth Kronk from the University of Kansas. This event will examine the intersection of tribal sovereignty and rights in the face of climate-induced impacts on indigenous peoples and homelands. Directions:
Many Nations Longhouse (1630 Columbia St., University of Oregon). The Longhouse is located in a dead-end between 16th and 17th; it is behind the UO Law School. To get there, take Agate to 17th, then turn east on 17th. Columbia is one block up, turn left on Columbia and park in the lot. The Longhouse is at the end of this drive.
