Mark Twain once said, “Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.” Likewise, much is said about the importance of the local business climate, yet unlike the weather, the Eugene Chamber is committed to advancing efforts to making it better. That is why our Chamber, in partnership with Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB), are collaborating on a five-year plan for analyzing the direction and perception of the community’s business climate. The effort is intended to:
• Provide the Chamber and community leaders with information on key issues and opportunities that are critical to growing our local economy. • Measure the local business climate based on experience or general perception. Local Government Affairs Council members and their guests will take an indepth look at the results of the 2013 Business Climate Survey and discuss potential follow-up actions and strategies. In addition, we will provide prospective members with a fast paced, informative opportunity to know the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce.
