The Willamette Angel Conference (WAC) is entering its fourth year and is poised to make another impactful investment. The WAC will be held on May 10th at the Downtown Athletic Club.
Admission to this year’s WAC includes:
Competing Companies
Attendees to this year's conference will see two groups of businesses compete. The first group of companies will be competing for an investment between $150,000 and $200,000. The second group, known as the Concept Companies, will compete for a package of cash and prizes in excess of $7,000. Audience members will vote for a winner of the Concept Companies.
Keynote Speaker
The keynote speaker for the 2012 Willamette Angel Conference is Paul Berry. Mr. Berry became the Chief Technology Officer of Huffington Post in 2007. He developed technical strategies that exploited the social, real-time Web as no other journalism business ever had, enabling huge growth.
Recently, Mr. Berry left Huffington Post to start a "social news" business, RebelMouse, joined by Huffington Post co-founders Ken Lerer and Jonah Peretti. As well, Mr. Berry is starting an incubator in New York with Lerer Ventures "focused on social and viral, experimenting to see what kind of business can really scale."
Startup Expo
With admission to the WAC comes admission to the night before festivities at the Startup Expo. The Startup Expo, held on May 9th at the Valley River Inn, will feature finalists for the conference displaying their innovations as well as other exciting startups operating in the Willamette Valley. Those not attending the conference can register for the expo independently. The Startup Expo is a great opportunity to see what new businesses are operating in the area and socialize with competitors and investors participating in the WAC. If you choose, you can attend the StartUp Expo and not the WAC by registering here
