Event Description:
Ian Scionti, flamenco guitarist/composer, has performed all over the United States, Europe, and most recently the Middle East both as a solo artist as well as accompanying singers, dancers, and other ensembles. He currently lives in Seville, Spain, the heart of flamenco music and culture, where he has been living, studying, and performing since 2004. Scionti has studied with and been influenced by the leaders in modern flamenco, including guitarists Manolo Sanlucar, Miguel Ángel Cortés, Niño Pura, and Manolo Franco. He is currently finishing a degree in flamenco guitar at the prestigious Superior Conservatory of Music in Cordoba, Spain. For this performance, Scionti will be playing classic Flamenco pieces as well as newer songs that respond to the modern direction of this Spanish musical genre.
