Johanna Drucker, Martin and Bernard Breslauer Professor of Bibliographical Studies, UCLA Debates about books and their future have been going on for several decades, and many people see the increased interest in aesthetic activity (artists' books) as a sign of this demise. But might we understand these phenomena differently? By looking at some striking examples of book art, this talk suggests some ways that books and information spaces might be in dialogue rather than competition as we look ahead.
